The results of Final Showdown are in. There were a total of 22 players attending the tournaments, and an additional Tekken 4 tournament was held.

Good Friday this week update: meeting cancelled! 4/17/03 - 8:20PM

Although I would have liked for the confirmation to have appeared sooner, better late than never. UTEP is shutting down tomorrow (4/18) at noon so, this Friday's meeting has been cancelled. However, that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy some anime. See the other activities page for details on the alternate showing we will be having instead.

Good Friday this week, meeting status on hold 4/16/03 - 2:30PM

Since Good Friday is going to be this week, this week's meeting status will stay on hold. As many of you might remember, usually UTEP closes its door at 12:00PM during this holiday, so if this is the case this year the meeting will have to be suspended. Stay tuned for updates.

Officers' Spot choices 4/11/03 - 12:00 PM

The Officers' Spot for this week will be a choice between 3 titles. During this week's officers' meeting, Air Master, one the latest TV series from Japan came to be mentioned and its first episode is one of the 3 choices. The second choice is Happy World OVA 1, a title that was screened at the last ASU party. The 3rd and final option is Last Exile, the latest TV anime from GONZO.

ASU has entered a partnership with anime store "The Action Pit" where our members get a 10% discount on most anime merchandise. For more info., check out the Membership page.

Spirited Away ASU Field Trip! 3/25/03 - 10:00AM

For those of you interested in going to see Academy Award Winner "Spirited Away" (Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi) at Tinseltown (on the East side) with ASU, check out the other activities other activities page for details.

Officer's spot changes 3/11/03 - 12:46AM

Just a remainder. Because of the restricted schedule of last week, the Officer Spot of the incoming weeks will be used to catch up with those titles that were not shown (Aquarian Age, Kanon, and Pita-ten). After that, the Officer's Spot will return to its regular, "surprise-based" format.

Schedule change 3/4/03 - 12:24AM

Due to reasons out of our control it is possible that this week's meeting will change. This is still uncomfirmed, but in the worst case the meeting will have to end early. Stay tuned for a status update.

3/6/03 - 9:16PM Update: The meeting will start at the usual time and will end early. Therefore, only four titles will be showin this week. For the titles that will not be shown this week, we will be using the Officer's Spot to catch up.

Spring Break Slumber Party! 2/28/03 - 12:20PM

Schedule changes. 1/29/03 - 8:25PM

Since the license of Samurai Deeper Kyo for American distribution has been recently announced, we have decided to remove it from our schedule to comply with fansub ethics. As a replacement, Naruto will be shown instead.

Also, due to requests of people attending the showings, we have changed the order of the titles to make everyone happy. You can check the new schedule at the next meeting section.

Officers elected. 1/29/03 - 8:15PM

During last meeting the new officers for the Spring semester were elected. The officers elected are the following:

Angel and Cody will remain their respective positoins as secretary and treasurer. Also, the contact us section has been updated with the new officer names.

Alright, the information has been comfirmed and we have a definite place where to have the slumber party. Check the other activities section to get all the details. Also, if you want to make a request of a specific title you want to see, make sure to do so at the forums.

This is for those registered members who have access to the forums: voting for the new titles for this semester is going on the forums right now. Voting will close on Thursday afternoon. If you have access to the forums, we will appreciate your participiation. It will help us come up with a programming that will make everyone happy.
