Anime Expo Last Call 6/19/03 - 3:40PM
A last call to the people who are interested to go to Anime Expo: we will keep accepting people for the trip up to June 30th, as long as the required amount is paid before the trip starts. The required amount is between $85 and $100, depending on several factors. This fee will cover transportation, lodging and con registration. If you want to go, the earliest you can confirm the better.
Macross Zero opportunity 6/12/03 - 9:45PM
As you can see the schedule, this week's meeting will include the second episode of the Macross Zero OAV. So what's the big deal? Well, this is will be the only time that we are going of a Macross Zero episode during the summer, since the production studio is taking about six months to release a new episode. So, if you are a Macross fan, it would be a good idea to make it to this week's meeting ^_-
Your new candidate: Gad Guard 6/12/03 - 9:40PM
As a followup to the previous news entry, it has been decided that the title to substitute Last Exile is Gad Guard, another title created by Studio Gonzo.
Goodbye to Last Exile, hello to more Ashita no Nadja 6/5/03 - 5:30PM
As some of you already know, at this year's A-Kon (we hope our members who were able to attend had a great time!) several titles were announced as licensed for distribution here in the States. Titles that will affect us are Last Exile, Kiddy Grade and Ground Defense Force Mao-chan. As a result, Last Exile will be removed from this Summer's candidate lineup and Kiddy Grade and Mao-chan will not be screened anymore on campus.
However, since Ashita no Nadja (Nadja of Tomorrow) replaced Someday's Dreamers (which was announced as licensed at this year's Anime Boston) was only going to get screening time for 2 episodes, the Officers decided to show an additional episode of Nadja during the time that was assigned to Last Exile.
If you were enjoying Last Exile with us and you liked it, please support the Region 1 release by buying the DVDs when they come out. Also, we highly recommend Someday's Dreamers, which should be available for purchase either later this year or early 2004.
No meeting for Friday, May 30th 5/29/03 - 3:45PM
Just a reminder: there will be no meeting this Friday (5/30) due to the break between Maymester and Summer (i.e. no classes). We will resume our meetings next Friday, June 6th. See you all then!
Summer showings 5/8/03 - 7:40PM
Just to let everybody know, summer showings will start on May 16th (that's next week), and will continue until the end of Summer II session. Together with random titles, we will be showing the candidates for the fall semester, so if you are a member with good standing, you might want to go to make an educated vote during fall's first meeting!
Summer slumber party 5/8/03 - 7:33PM
We are proud to announce that there will be a slumber party on May 24th. The official announcement will be made on the first summer meeting, and by the way, if someone wants to offer their place (big screen, nice couch and a pool required ^_-) you can do so during the announcement.
