ASU on break for the Winter Holidays 12/05/06 - 3:35 PM

ASU will be on break until the beginning of the Spring 2007. We will not be dormant though! We will again be participating in ConFront in Juarez (see below) plus we might have a get together between now and the first meeting in January so keep tuned to the website for more info. ASU at ConFront 2006! 12/05/06 - 3:40 PM

This will be ASU's third participation in Juarez's annual ConFront (Convención de la Frontera). This year it will be held in Plaza Las Misiones on December 15-17. As we obtain more info., we will post updates on ConFront next week in the other activities page. We will have anime screenings (with either Spanish subtitles or dubbed in Spanish), anime/manga goodies for sale, food and snacks, as well as other activities. If you'll be in Juarez that weekend, make sure to stop by and say "Hi."

Special Dead Day showing at the Union Cinema 11/27/06 - 6:50 PM

As we had mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the special Dead Day meeting (on 12/1) will be at the Union Cinema from 12:30 until 6:00PM. On Dead Day meetings, ASU has a special showing with titles that are potential candidates for the following semester's viewing lineup. If you're interested in seeing what we might be showing in the Spring of 2007, make sure to attend. Also, we may have a special activity during the break and a special outing after the meeting for those interested.

3rd EPAC meeting on Saturday, December 2nd 11/27/06 - 6:55 PM

The 3rd planning meeting for the El Paso Anime Con will be on Saturday 12/2 at around Noon outside the UTEP Union.

No meeting for Friday 11/24 11/20/06 - 1:15 PM

There will be no meeting this Friday the 24th as the University is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. We'll see everyone on Dead Day, Friday December 1st in the Union Cinema.

Friday 11/17's meeting plan 11/15/06 - 12:40 PM

This Friday the 17th will be the last regular ASU meeting of the semester. Friday the 24th is Thanksgiving so no classes/meeting. Friday December 1st is Dead Day so a special showing will be held at a location to be determined. KamiKazo and Haruhi will be ending so make sure to note the next meeting page for the title schedule. Additionally, the 11/17 meeting will end at 4:30PM as there is an non-ASU activity that will take place afterwards in the room.

2nd EPAC meeting this Saturday, November 4th 11/02/06 - 2:10 PM

This Saturday the 4th will be the next El Paso Anime Con preliminary planning meeting. Meeting time will be around Noon outside the Union.

New titles Fall 2006 titles 10/16/06 - 6:20 PM

Replacements for xxxHOLiC and Mushishi to be selected on Friday the 13th 10/09/06 - 6:55 PM

As we announced last Friday, per developments mentioned here, ASU will be removing xxxHOLiC and Mushishi from its viewing lineup per ASU rules. Their replacements will be selected by majority vote from society members. The candidates are (in alphabetical order):

As a note, we have moved Honey and Clover II to 1:35PM (xxxHOLiC's old spot) to accomodate for voting this week) so, make sure to note the schedule for this week.

First EPAC planning meeting on Saturday 10/7 10/05/06 - 7:00 PM

Like we had mentioned a couple of weeks ago, preliminary meetings for next year's El Paso Anime Con will be the first Saturdays of October, November and December. The first of these meetings will be on October 7th. We will meet outside the Union building (in the breezeway) and eventually move into the building (3rd floor). If you are interested in helping out with EPAC, we'll see you there.

ASU meetings for Fall 2006 start this Friday the 25th! 08/23/06 - 11:45 AM

Well then, the new semester had started and we at ASU wish everyone luck in all their classes this new semester. The first ASU meeting will be on Friday, August 25th at 1:00PM. We expect a lot of new people so, arrive early for best seating. We'll also be voting on the titles to screen this semester as well.
