Dead Day meeting 05/01/06 - 4:25 PM

This Friday's meeting will be screener of several titles from the new season of anime that started in Japan a few weeks ago. Come check them out as some of these may become candidates for the Fall 2006's title line-up.

Summer status 05/01/06 - 4:30 PM

The Dead Day meeting on May 5th will be the last official ASU meeting for this semester. We're pretty busy with EPAC so, please stay tuned to the website. We will announce there the status of ASU summer meetings.

Next AX trip payment due 04/25/06 - 2:10 PM

The next payment for the AX trip will be due on Friday, May 5th (during the Dead Day meeting). The amount needed is $100 (USD).

Special AX trip meeting this Friday, April 21st after the ASU meeting 04/18/06 - 5:11 PM

There will be a special meeting this Friday for those people going on the trip to Anaheim with ASU for Anime Expo. Meeting will be after the regular ASU meeting (at 5:00PM). For more details, please visit this topic in the forums.

"Trip" to see Howl's Moving Castle screening 04/03/06 - 5:35 PM

It had been brought to our attention back in February but now that the week in question is here, ASU will be taking a "field trip" (walking from the Liberal Arts building to the Union Cinema :P) to go see Miyazaki's "Howl's Moving Castle" on Friday, April 7th after the meeting. Cinéma Novo screenings are at 7:00PM on Fridays and cost $2 for General admission, $1 for UTEP students, faculty and staff and are free for Cinema Novo members.

New Website Design 03/20/06 - 3:30 PM

EPAC06 Website 03/20/06 - 3:30 PM

We have taken out the placeholder page that we had at the EPAC website, and the site design is now up. We will be posting the contents of each section as soon as we review them. The design as it is now does not include the official artwork for this year, but we will have it by the end of the month.

Third EPAC Meeting this Saturday 03/20/06 - 3:30 PM

As we move closer to the convention date, we will start having weekly EPAC Meetings on Saturdays at Noon (12pm). We will meet in the UTEP Union Breezeway and move into the Union East, in front of the Bookstore. If the building is closed, we will remain there, unless the weather acts up.

Bleach Licensed, Replaced by Honey and Clover. 03/20/06 - 3:30 PM

As announced in Anime News Network Bleach (created originally by Kubotite), has been licensed. We will follow our rules and remove it from our line-up. Here is a Press Release from Viz with the whole story. We will replace it with another episode of Honey and Clover, so we can finish the series before the semester ends.

Since we're on Spring Break this week, there will NOT be an ASU meeting this Friday the 17th. We'll see you at the 2nd EPAC meeting (see below), at Andy's place (see below) or next Friday (the 24th) for our regular meeting.

Anime at Andy's place this Saturday 03/14/06 - 1:15 PM

Andy will host a day of anime at his place this Saturday March 18th. It will start sometime after the EPAC meeting that day (see below). For more info., check out the other activities page.

Second EPAC meeting on March 18th 03/09/06 - 10:05 AM

We had a really good first meeting where a lot of ideas flowed. The second EPAC meeting will be on Saturday, March 18th in the Union Breezeway (we may or may not move inside the Union again depending on whether it's open or not).

First AX payment due this Friday 03/09/06 - 10:15 AM

This year AX didn't give us much a head start for the first registration deadline so, we'll ask for the first payment of $50 this Friday during the meeting so that we can send the registration next week and obtain the group discount. Please give us your full info. (name, address, etc.) so that we can register you with ASU's group.

Additional EPAC artists needed! 03/09/06 - 10:20 AM

We need one more artist (maybe two) for the official EPAC artwork. We have a couple of artists already interested in doing artwork so if you want your artwork featured in the official EPAC advertisements, make sure to let us know and show us some of your work!

Now that The El Paso Anime Convention 2006 is official, ASU will hold its first official EPAC meeting this Saturday, March 4th at noon outside the UTEP Union (in the breezeway) for people interested in helping plan and/or volunteer.

If you're an artist who would like to have your art considered for official art of EPAC 2006, make sure to attend the Saturday meeting mentioned above!

The first payment, which will be $50 (USD), for people wishing to attend Anime Expo with ASU will be due on March 10th during the ASU weekly meeting for that Friday.

El Paso Anime Convention 2006: It's official now! 02/22/06 - 2:45 PM

We've been working on this for some time now but, now that the paperwork is signed and stamped, ASU is proud to announce its 2nd installment of the El Paso Anime Convention: EPAC 2006! Remember last year's? Well, we're planning to make it even better and this year it will be 2 days. Yep, you read that right: 2 whole days of fun! The first meeting for people interested in going to AX will be this Friday, February 24th at 5:00PM in LART 403 (after ASU's regular meeting). Make sure to be there!

Organization Registration, Schedule Changes, Slumber Party? 02/08/06 - 6:10 PM

At this Friday's meeting we'll be doing some our semesterly registration duties so, please be present at 2:55PM this Friday. Also, there have been some changes to the schedule so, make sure to note your favorite title(s)' time slot. We should be having our first get-together soon, we'll talk more about it on Friday.

Titles selected and special schedule for this week 02/02/06 - 3:30 PM

So, the official titles for the Spring 2006 have been decided. Check them out in this week's meeting schedule. Additionally, this week we'll have another Yakitate!! hour-long special so make sure to check out the times in the schedule.

Title and Officers selection 01/26/06 - 6:30 PM

At this Friday's meeting ASU will be holding elections for Officers as well as titles to be screened for the rest of the semester. Ballots will consist of 2 columns of titles (see below) and members will get to choose 7 of them (divided into 4 from one column and 3 from the other). Ballots that deviate from this format (e.g. 6 titles from one column and 1 from the other, etc.) will be void and null. See you all on Friday!
