CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

We are seeking contributors to The Borderlands Encyclopedia. The Borderlands Encyclopedia is an emerging World Wide Web and multimedia project containing a variety of selected instructional materials about the U.S.-Mexico border. These materials can be shared and utilized worldwide by users with minimal computer expertise. The Borderlands Encyclopedia provides an intuitive interface between the information seeker and the information provider. This is accomplished by using the Internet and the World Wide Web to organize digital resources focusing on six key areas of U.S.-Mexico relations: Culture and Media, Economics and Business, Education and Training, Family Life and Population Groups, Government and Politics, and Health and Environment, into one coherent repository. Users need only click the Informational Topics to discover a wealth of both print and electronic instructional material.

The goal of The Borderlands Encyclopedia is to provide access to high quality information on contemporary U.S.-Mexico border issues and concerns that can be used by students and faculty at all levels of the educational system.

You can participate in The Borderlands Encyclopedia in three ways:

1. Review and provide feedback about the pilot version of The Borderlands Encyclopedia at http://www.utep.edu/border.

2. Give us approval to add a link to your WWW materials onto The Borderlands Encyclopedia by contacting the Project Director at pmccarty@utep.edu.

3. Become a Borderlands Encyclopedia Information Provider. If you have high quality digital materials in one or more of the new media formats and are willing to share this material with others over the World Wide Web you can be an Information Provider. You must either own the copyright of the material or have permission to submit the materials to The Borderlands Encyclopedia for instructional use. For further details, go to Guidelines for Submissions. These materials can be submitted either in Spanish or English language formats because The Borderlands Encylopedia is a bilingual/bicultural instructional resource.
