Your business can take advantage of one of El Paso del Norte’s richest resources, the brain power on the UTEP campus. UTEP is this region’s greatest source of human capital growth, offering businesses with internships for credit, professional development for a variety of careers, technical development expertise for innovative companies and start-ups, and fee-based research and production services for the following industries:
  • Manufacturing
  • International Business
  • Banking
  • Small Business Administration
UTEP plays a vital role in expanding the economy of the El Paso del Norte region not only by providing the highest quality educational facilities, but also by supporting local businesses with its vast infrastructure, research facilities, archives, and most importantly, brainpower.

ECONOMIC IMPACT
One of the most powerful ways in which UTEP enhances the El Paso-Juárez region can be measured in dollars and cents. During the past decade, UTEP’s budget has nearly doubled from
$97 million to about $200 million. With nearly 3,600 employees, UTEP pays salaries in excess of $98 million per year. Using a conservative multiplier, UTEP’s $182 million in annual expenditures translates into a $348 million aggregate economic impact on the El Paso-Juárez borderplex. It is estimated that UTEP’s payroll and contracts resulted in the creation of more than 6,300 jobs in the community.
