    12.- Interdisciplinary Degrees

The major and minor requirements for the BS and BA degrees are listed in respective department sections. The interdisciplinary BS degrees, Life/Earth Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Physical Sciences, do not require a minor unless certification in Secondary Teaching is sought.

    BS in Life/Earth Sciences
The requirement to obtain the BS in Life/Earth Sciences consists of the general College of Science requirements plus the following specific requirements:

    BS in Natural Sciences
The requirement to obtain the BS in Natural Sciences consists of the general College of Science requirements plus the following specific requirements:
Interdisciplinary Major (a minimum of 59 semester hours including 27 semester hours of upper-division course work): BIOL 3105 -1107 and 3106 -1108 ; CHEM 3105 -1105 and 3106 -1106 ; GEOL 3101 -1101 (or 3103 ) and 3102 -1102 (or GEOL 3104 ); and PHYS 1120 -1121 and 4210 -4211 are required lower-division courses. In addition, a minimum of 27 semester hours of approved upper-division course work in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geological Sciences, and Physics are required. This must include a minimum of three semester hours in each of the disciplines and a minimum of 12 semester hours of upper-division course work must be taken in a single department.

Additional Science: The College's additional science requirement is satisfied by the major.

      Other: MATH 3112 is required.

    BS in Physical Sciences
The requirement to obtain the BS in Physical Sciences consists of the general College of Science requirements plus the following specific requirements:
      Interdisciplinary Major (a minimum of 49 semester hours including 26 semester hours of upper-division course work): CHEM 3105 -1105 , 3106 -1106 , 2261 , 3324 , 1324 , 3325 , 1325 , 3430 , and three additional semester hours of upper-division course work in chemistry; PHYS 1120 , 1121 , 4210 , 4211 , 3325 , and 2343 (taken three times); PSCI 3203 and 3304 .

      Additional Science: The additional science requirement may be met by BIOL 3105 -1107 , 3106 -1108 ; or BIOL 3103 -3104 ; or GEOL 3101 -1101 (or 3103 ), 3102 -1102 (or 3104 ).
