ACES

Finding a comfortable environment to meet with a project team, get assistance with getting an internship or simply connect with fellow students or faculty can be a challenge, but not for engineering students at UTEP. The Advancement Center for Engineering Students, commonly known as ACES, is a network of pods that provide engineering students with resources and services related to their academic, business and professional goals. Operated by undergraduate students, and a family of partners, ACES aligns itself with the University's and the College of Engineering's mission to provide Access to Excellence.

Resources and services ACES aims to provide our students include:

  • Career Center Satellite - manages resume reviews services and career-readiness workshops closer to engineering students
  • Room Reservation - accommodates student organization meetings, study groups and faculty-led review sessions
  • Student Organizations Pods - provides office supplies, equipment and space for organizations
  • Tutoring – facilitates needs in engineering, math and science courses through honor society, PLTL and ACES Hybrid tutors
  • Volunteering – centralizes the College’s Ninjaneer program of service to the college, university and area community

Facilities that you may not be aware of that are coordinated by ACES include:

  • ACES Courtyard – provides an outdoor area with park benches and plenty of shade
  • Engineering Breezeway – provides hi-traffic, outdoor space with protection from the elements
  • Lounge Area – offers a place to start your day with hot coffee or tea
