Discussion. Conkling (1932) Noted skeletal elements of two individuals from Conkling Cavern. One individual was found at the depth of around 12 ft close to sloth and bear. The second comes from about 12 ft below the first and was below a consolidated sandstone that was from 4 to 8 inches thick. A radiocarbon date, however, is 1590 ± 80 (Berger and Libby 1969).
