Please review the information on our admissions requirements page to make sure you have a complete application.

Prospective students should understand that all communication between the student and the SOP may be considered in the application process.  This includes, but is not limited to, phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.

Please note:

  • All application materials must be complete to be considered. A complete application includes:
    • PCAT Score Report
    • Unofficial Transcripts
    • 3 Letters of Recommendation
    • Resume/CV
    • Future Coursework Sheet (if you are, or will be, enrolled in prerequisite coursework in the Summer after you apply)
    • Supplemental Application (Personal Statement)
    • Supplemental Application Fee
  • All application materials must be submitted on or before the deadline date unless otherwise indicated.
  • Pending your admission to the School we will request you send us your Official Transcripts and Official PCAT Transcript. 

Supplemental Application

The vision of the UTEP School of Pharmacy is to be a pioneer of excellence in pharmacy education for Innovation, Diversity, Engagement, Access, and Leadership (IDEAL). Tell us about how you meet the IDEAL through your education, in your professional involvement, and/or in your own personal life. How do you see yourself continuing, developing, and/or sharpening your IDEAL talents, skills, and service during the Doctor of Pharmacy education?. This statement is your opportunity to share with us more about yourself-- to describe how your hopes, ambitions, life experiences, and/or inspirations have shaped you. Remember this personal statement is exactly that – personal. Your personal story is an important component of your application and will help put your entire application in context. (Maximum length: 1 Page 8 1/2" x 11”. Formatting requirements: Single-Sided, Single-Spaced, Typed, Font size 11 pt, Times New Roman or Arial, 1-inch margins). 

Early, Regular, and Late Admissions

The UTEP SOP has three admissions processes: early admissionregular admission, and late admission.

  • Early Admission.  The application deadline for early admission is: November 2ndApplications submitted after this date will not be accepted. Decision letters for early admission will be emailed to the applicant’s permanent email address on file no later than February 15th. Applicants who are admitted by the early admissions process must accept their admittance by March 1st.  Failure to do so can lead to a revocation of admissions.  A student who is placed on the “waitlist” will have a final decision mailed to the applicant’s permanent address no later than May 15th.
  • Regular Admission.  The application deadline for regular admission is: January 4th.  Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.  Decision letters for regular admission will be emailed to the applicant’s email address on file no later than March 31st.  Applicants who are admitted by the regular admissions process must accept their admittance by April 30th.  Failure to do so can lead to a revocation of admissions.  A student who is placed on the “waitlist” will have a final decision mailed to the applicant’s permanent address no later than May 15th.
  • Late Admission: The application deadline for late admission is: March 31st. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.  Decision letters for late admission will be emailed to the applicant’s email address on file no later than April 30th.  Applicants who are admitted by the late admissions process must accept their admittance by May 7thFailure to do so can lead to a revocation of admissions.  A student who is placed on the “waitlist” will have a final decision mailed to the applicant’s permanent address no later than May 15th.

Accepted Applicants

If you are offered admission, you will be required to submit a $200 deposit fee by the Acceptance Deadline to hold your place. This amount will go towards your tuition fees. If you do not accept or submit your deposit by the deadline it may affect your admissions to the UTEP School of Pharmacy.
