Application Process


The application process for Fall 2017 entry is now closed. We will begin accepting applications for Fall 2018 entry beginning July, 2017.

The UTEP School of Pharmacy will be utilizing PharmCAS to accept admissions into our PharmD program.

Prospective students should understand that all communication between the student and the SOP may be considered in the application process.  This includes, but is not limited to, phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.

Please note:

  • All application materials must be complete to be considered. A complete application includes:
    • Official PCAT Trancript
    • Official Transcripts from all college level institutions attended
    • 3 Letters of Recommendation
    • Supplemental Application (Personal Statement)
    • Supplemental Application Fee
  • Additional but highly recommended documents include:

Supplemental Application

The vision of the UTEP School of Pharmacy is to be a pioneer of excellence in pharmacy education for Innovation, Diversity, Engagement, Access, and Leadership (IDEAL). Tell us about how you meet the IDEAL through your education, in your professional involvement, and/or in your own personal life. How do you see yourself continuing, developing, and/or sharpening your IDEAL talents, skills, and service during the Doctor of Pharmacy education?. This statement is your opportunity to share with us more about yourself-- to describe how your hopes, ambitions, life experiences, and/or inspirations have shaped you. Remember this personal statement is exactly that – personal. Your personal story is an important component of your application and will help put your entire application in context.

Early, Regular, and Late Admission

The UTEP SOP has three admissions processes: early admissionregular admission, and late admission. 

All admissions processes open on PharmCAS on July 18. Deadlines are staggered. If your application is incomplete by the Early Admission Deadline it will be rolled into Regular Admission. If your application is incomplete by the Regular Admission Deadline it will be rolled into Late Admission. If your application is incomplete by the Late Admission Deadline your application will not be considered by the Admissions Committe for entry into the UTEP School of Pharmacy.

Accepted Applicants

If you are offered admission, you will be required to submit a $200 deposit fee by the deadline noted above specific to your admission process. This amount will go towards your tuition and fees. If you do not accept or submit your deposit by the deadline it may affect your admission to the UTEP School of Pharmacy.
