The Stage Directions |
I'll tell you something: your entire stay here on this planet
you live in a theater---always acting
there are others, they read the script too
but being actors, they change the lines
make new ones and ignore the director
(he sits in his corner, he knows the routine)
---not that it's a bad thing
it does an excellent job of maintaining
the line between actor and puppet
---so easy to cross
the curtain rises and the curtain falls
but the action is incessant
and the audience lines up
ears to the velvet
the stage hands---painted black
give props, move walls, prompt lines
and no one ever sees anything of them
except the brilliant whites of their eyes
but one day you give your last line:
*a la gente le encanta drama.*
and you execute the last direction:
*exeunt.*
