The Millennium Lecture Series brings speakers to the UTEP campus to address topics that impact our society, culture and lives. The lectures in this Series are intended to provoke our thinking and stimulate discussion about important issues of the day. This year’s theme is “Defining Security in the 21st Century.” Our goal is to explore some of the many facets of security that have become central themes in political debates and popular media coverage of events in our rapidly changing global context.
Millennium speakers will share their wide-ranging perspectives on a variety of important topics—from the safety and security of natural resources, food and energy supplies; to the impact of demographic pressures and migration on economic security and competitiveness.
We invite you to join us in exploring these important issues with our distinguished Millennium Lecturers.
