Cratogeomys/Geomys—Yellow-faced or Plains Pocket Gopher

Discrimination between members of these two genera is difficult or impossible on many of the elements available as fossils. At the same time, many of the elements are easily distinguished from Thomomys, the other genus occurring in our region during the Wisconsin.
