rule

Location of the Navar Ranch site.Age. Mid Wisconsin. Mid Wisconsin radiocarbon dates range from >30,000 BP to >34,000 BP (Van Devender et al. 1987).

Late Wisconsin. Several woodrat middens are Late Wisconsin, radiocarbon dated at 10,580±230 to 19,610±1150 BP (Van Devender et al. 1987).

General Description. Rock shelters in westernmost Hueco Mountains. Dates are on woodrat middens (Van Devender et al. 1987).

Discussion. The faunal material comes from woodrat middens (Van Devender et al. 1987). In an earlier paper, Van Devender and Riskind (1979) identified the vole from this site as Microtus cf. montanus; this paper notes that the material is not sufficient for assignment to species and probably represents M. mexicanus (= M. mogollonensis).
