Faculty - Research Interest
Our faculty have excellent educational backgrounds and experience which they bring to their roles as educators and student mentors. All of our faculty have received graduate and post-graduate training at first rate institutions. Most are fluent in Spanish and all have years of experience working with border and/or Latin-American communities. They are actively involved in cutting-edge research on exciting and important public health issues in the areas of nutrition, diabetes, breast cancer, pregnancy outcome, air quality, tuberculosis, development and testing of vaccines and complementary and alternative treatments for infectious and other diseases, prevention of HIV-AIDS, and domestic partner violence, health disparities, STI prevention, and alcohol and drug education. Our graduate and undergraduate students are involved in many of these research activities.
