Dialogues in Leadership

UTEP presents Dialogues in Leadership (DiL), an annual series of master-class discussions and workshops led by a diverse slate of education and community leaders. The design and execution of this series reflect exciting trends emerging nationally around professional development and leadership.

As UTEP continues to be a model for student success in the increasingly complex landscape of higher education, we must also sustain and enhance support for faculty and staff success by advancing our one-team approach and our commitment to professional development. The UTEP Edge student success framework embodies both of these values and served as the catalyst for DiL.

This series, limited to a cohort of 20 faculty and staff, will emphasize the reality that on our campus, each of us is a leader, whether in the classroom, in our departments, or as an ambassador for the University. As leaders, we must understand our shared purpose of changing lives through education, beginning with an appreciation of our own paths.

Dialogues in Leadership participants will:

• Reflect on the personal and professional histories that brought them to their current position
• Harness the value of that reflection to enhance their current roles and inform their professional pathways
• Apply their learning to UTEP’s student success efforts and overall mission
• Emerge with a broadened and deepened professional network
