An Internship is a type of experiential learning that allows students to “test-drive” their career and professional goals. Completing an internship through your academic department or through the Internship Program at the University Career Center can make students more marketable in their future careers and can promote the application and integration of knowledge. At The University of Texas at El Paso, we encourage our students to partake in self-discovery and exploration.
Many local, regional, and national employers recruit UTEP interns because of the quality of our academic programs and the outstanding and diverse applicant pool available at the University.
Internship opportunities are accessible via the Job Mine portal for students to view and apply to positions.
Students who participate in an internship will:
- Learn more about their prospective field of interest, by taking their education beyond the classroom.
- Gain practical experience as a professional under conditions conducive to their educational development
- Transform their education into meaningful work.
- Develop critical skills such as time and project management, communication, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving
