Student Employment
Working through college is a proud UTEP tradition. As key contributors to the UTEP community, on-campus student employees purposefully connect to faculty, staff, and fellow students, grow personally and professionally, and offset their educational costs. And they do all of this while going to classes and pursuing their educational and career dreams.
UTEP employs more than 2,000 students each year, filling a wide variety of roles across campus, including:
- Tutors
- Peer leaders
- Office staff
- Event planning
- Graphic design
- Technology staff
- Library personnel
- Teaching Assistants
- Research Assistants
- Graduate Assistants
A successful on-campus student employee is:
- contributing financially to their academic and personal goals
- developing valuable, transferrable professional skills
- building a greater sense of connection and belonging to the campus
- forging new relationships and creating a network of colleagues, peers, and professionals
- enjoying the flexibility of an employer who works with their class schedules and values them as students first
