EMERGENCE HEALTH NETWORK
Rick A. Myer, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Educational Psychology and Special Services, joined the Board of Trustees for the Emergence Health Network – El Paso Center for Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities. This organization serves El Paso County residents in the areas of intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health issues, emergency crisis response, integrated health care and addictions. His two-year term began in January 2016.
JOURNAL OF COUNSELOR PREPARATION AND SUPERVISION
Dr. Paul A. Carrola has been appointed as an editorial board member for the Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision starting April 2016. The mission of the Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision is to provide a comprehensive platform for research, theory and practices of counselor educators, counselor supervisors and professional counselors.
TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF COUNSELOR EDUCATION AND SUPERVISION
Dr. Paul A. Carrola has been named a senator for the Texas Association of Counselor Education and Supervision (TACES) for the 2016-2017 year. TACES is a division of the Texas Counseling Association that represents supervisors and educators who advocate for the counseling profession in the state of Texas by strengthening counselor education and supervision.
TEXAS SCHOOL COUNSELOR ASSOCIATION
Congratulations to Dr. Carleton H. Brown who has recently been named as a board member for the Texas School Counselor Association (TSCA). TSCA is the largest division of the Texas Counselor Association and the largest school counselor association in the state of Texas. TSCA mission is to support Texas School Counselors through leadership, advocacy and professional development. In this position, Dr. Brown will represent UTEP in a leadership position on the state level.
