Dr. Yeager joins UTEP from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he completed his doctoral degree in special education. While at UNLV, Dr. Yeager was project coordinator for the project Evaluating the Efficacy of a Mathematics Gaming Intervention for At-Risk First Grade Students, funded through the Institute of Education Sciences. He taught a variety of courses in special education, including courses in Oral and Written Language Instruction for Students with Disabilities, and was also the Literacy Coach for ReInvent Schools Las Vegas. Dr. Yeager's research interest is in the transition to adulthood for individuals with disabilities. He earned a summer doctoral fellowship from UNLV to fund the completion of his dissertation titled, “Transition Perceptions of High School Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders and their Teachers.” He is a member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), and Council for Learning Disabilities (CLD).
