Nerd Night
On Thursday, March 30th, the ASPIRE UTEP team hosted a Nerd Night event in partnership with El Paso Electric and Insights Science Discovery at Guillen Middle School. The ASPIRE Engineering Research Center seeks to engage underserved community members to become better informed on sustainable, electrified transportation. This Nerd Night was part of this effort as it was held in the Segundo Barrio, but all of the El Paso Community was invited to attend.
During this event, members of the community learned from presentations prepared by students from the UTEP ASPIRE Student Association (ASA) regarding vehicle and roadway electrification. In addition, all of the attendants had an incredible time learning from a Myth Buster presentation and electric vehicle demos organized by El Paso Electric’s Electrification of Transportation, Emergent Technologies and Innovations Department.
