Alejandra Gallegos, Young Engineer of the Year

Alejandra Gallegos completed in May 2012 the Transatlantic Dual Master’s Degree Program in Transportation and Logistics Systems at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), and the Czech Technical University in the Czech Republic. Alejandra earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree at UTEP in Spring 2010, receiving the Andrew D. Jones award for her outstanding academic performance. Alejandra worked as a research assistant with Dr. Chang from 2009 to 2011 in the project “Evaluation and Development of Pavement Scores, Performance Models and Needs Estimates”, which was sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Her thesis topic is “Development of Concrete Pavement Performance Models”. Alejandra was recipient of a Road Scholar Fellow by the International Road Federation (IRF) in 2011. Alejandra is currently working at Huitt-Zollars in El Paso. |
