What is FERPA?
FERPA (the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The general policy is that UTEP cannot share information with you about your student’s education records, which include the student’s class schedule, attendance, and grades, without the student’s written consent. Faculty, staff, and administrators must abide by this federal law.
