Student Spotlight

Meagan Shank, Student, Online Bachelor of Arts in Organizational & Corporate Communication

"I worked very hard to get where I am today, and without UTEP Connect I’m not sure if I would have been able to finish my degree."

Meagan Shank lives in Maine and is a student in the fully online BA in Organizational and Corporate Communication program. Thanks to UTEP Connect, she was able to continue working on her degree without losing any credits even after she moved to the Northeast from El Paso. In fact, she says the realization that she could continue to get her degree with UTEP because of online learning spurred her to "risk it all and move to New England."

Until she enrolled in the online BA in Organizational and Corporate Communication, Meagan's experience with online learning was limited to a few online courses at El Paso Community College. Becoming a fully online student has changed her outlook on education and opened her eyes to the educational opportunities available to working students everywhere. Meagan loves the flexibility of online learning and aspires to work in marketing as a copywriter or market researcher after graduation.

"If you think that you do not have time to go to school or finish school because you are working, think again. UTEP Connect gives you the ability to do it, as long as you are committed to your future success. Online classes have changed my life, and have given me a new outlook on education."
