Meet Delilah Chaparro
 
 

Patsy Delilah Chaparro was born and raised in El Paso. She  currently works in Las Cruces, NM as the RN weekend supervisor in a skilled nursing facility that primarily serves geriatric populations. 

Delilah received her LVN and RN at El Paso Community College. IN 2025, she earned her RN-BSN at UTEP. She is now enrolled in the MSN- Family Nurse Practitioner at UTEP and expects to graduate in August 2027.

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT: DR. JANISE TINSMAN

 
 
 
 

Dr. Janise Tinsman is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing and the Coordinator of the RN-BSN program. She has nearly 40 years of nursing experience, beginning as an LPN in 1986, then obtaining her RN in 1991. Her varied career includes long-term care, medical surgical, cardiac step down, float pool and cardiac rehab. After earning her BSN in 2008, she was exposed to nursing education at Tarleton State University and found her final career focus. Upon obtaining her MSN-Ed. she began teaching for Ranger College in Brownwood, TX. She then earned her DNP in 2019 and came to UTEP in May 2020, joining her older brother and parents here in the borderland.
