MPA students benefit from the close relationships the program has with the local community and can also elect to do an internship for credit The program also provides military-affiliated students the opportunity to obtain their MPA, thanks to a unique partnership with the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (USASMA).

UTEP EDGE AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION Our student success initiative, the UTEP Edge, develops upon students’ assets through a variety of high-impact experiences. These experiences are designed to improve student skills and give UTEP students a competitive advantage as they move forward in their lives and careers. STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: AMY HERNANDEZ
Amy Hernandez was born and raised in El Paso and received a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in 2008. Except for a brief stint in Austin during the legislative session, she has remained in El Paso. Amy currently works for a State Representative as his District Director and has been in this position for about ten years. Prior to this, she worked for a State Senator and City representative. She has been in public administration for about 15 years and absolutely loves it. Amy enjoys exploring new ideas, meeting new people and helping them and exploring new ideas. She graduates this May. Congratulations, Amy!

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT: DR. LJUBINKA ANDONOSKA
Dr. Ljubinka Andonoska came to UTEP in 2013; she teaches in the Master of Public Administration program in the College of Liberal Arts. Dr. Andonoska's MPA and Ph.D. degrees are from Arizona State University and her specialties include state and local government, and government budgeting, and financial management.
"Know that your professor is always there for you. Just because you don’t see her face, that does not mean she does not care about your success. And... ask questions when in doubt—always!"
