SUMMER 2020Connect With Us! is a quarterly newsletter that features UTEP Connect's online programs and the faculty, staff and students associated with them.
FEATURED PROGRAM: MASTER OF SCIENCE IN SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
UTEP's online Master of Science in Systems Engineering has been created by UTEP's College of Engineering to ensure that graduates have the skills that industry partners like Lockheed Martin and Department of Defense contractors look for. This program - Is one of only a few online systems engineering master’s degree programs in the nation
- Has been designed for engineers and other STEM professionals seeking technical and managerial skills
- Uses a hands-on curriculum that takes into consideration the International Council on Systems Engineering's (INCOSE) Handbook and covers the full spectrum of Systems Engineering sub-disciplines
- Culminates with a practicum and gives students an advantage in earning their Associate/Certified Systems Engineering Professional
(ASEP/CSEP) certification
Students who are not quite ready to take on a full master's degree might find the Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering a better fit. It can be completed in just 15 semester credit hours and those credits can be applied towards the master's degree.
PARTNERSHIP WITH AT&T In Summer 2019, AT&T integrated UTEP's M.S. in Systems Engineering program into the suite of professional graduate degrees they make available to their employees for professional advancement. Since integration last summer, 18% of all students admitted into the program have been under the sponsorship of AT&T.
UTEP EDGE AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
Our student success initiative, the UTEP Edge, develops upon students’ assets through a variety of high-impact experiences. These experiences are designed to improve student skills and give UTEP students a competitive advantage as they move forward in their lives and careers. Our goal as a campus is to provide these UTEP Edge experiences to all students, regardless of their area of study, so they will graduate with a competitive advantage over their peers. These are the Edge experiences
Systems Engineering students will have and the Edge skills they will graduate with.
