Course learning Goals/Outcomes help determine the types of content and activities a course will need. These will be found as part of the course overview or description and give students an idea of what they can hope to learn or achieve at the end of the course.

Student Learning objectives provide the road map for student success by being clearly defined and measurable. Assesments and Activities in the course should be aligned to these goals, demonstrating how they will lead students to meet overall course goals. View the UTEP Program Assesment Plan toolkit (Writing Student Learning Outcomes) for a great place to start!

Consider the following when creating your goals:

Bloom’s Taxonomy

Build you learnign Objectives using Bloom’s Taconomu of Educational Objectives which examines the cognitive process of learnign and explores active learning verbs that match the hierarchy of higher order thinking.
