Mission
The Center for Faculty Leadership and Development (CFLD) is a collective aimed at identifying, developing, and supporting faculty-driven initiatives that will enhance not only faculty, staff and student success but also UTEP’s role as a national leader in 21st century public higher education.
Vision
Building on a solid foundation of faculty development in teaching and learning developed by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETaL) over the past two decades, the center will focus on a broader set of faculty development initiatives. The goal of the initiatives is to strive for excellence in teaching and learning; scholarship and mentoring; entrepreneurship and innovation; leadership and engagement. These initiatives, with organizational support from the center, will be collaborative, faculty-driven communities of practice that will work closely with appropiate offices, programs, departments, and colleges on campus to develop a shared repertoire of resources aimed at quality enhancement at all levels within our institution. These initiatives will be a starting point for what will become a long-term effort to develop sustainable resources that will continue to evolve and adapt to changing institutional needs and priorities.
