Accreditation Criteria and Guidelines
Carefully read and review the content organized in Lesson 14 on this topic.

In looking at the information in Chapter 14, I realize that oversight focuses on several aspects for success in a distance education university, and its relation to accreditation. All six of the countries accreditation sectors have general requirements for the education programs:
All aspects of the educational program must be clearly related to the purpose of the institution.
The institution must provide a competent faculty, adequate library/learning resources, and appropriate computer resources, instructional materials/equipment and physical facilities.
The institution must ensure appropriate levels of student achievement and equivalent quality of programs regardless of the method of instruction or the location of program.

In reviewing the chapter is see a big stress on universities to have programs that are student-centered, but not one way directed without communication from the instructor. With the variety of students now taking Web-Based courses, students need to be reassured that they have support for technical problems, access to a digital library and resources, clear educational goals. Along with that, they deserve equity in content, faculty, facilities, and evaluation and assessment.
