Mary Ann Avelar-Flores

My Name is Mary Ann Flores and I work in Brownsville, Texas at Lopez High School in the Career & Technology Department.I received my Bachelor in Business Education in 1982 from the University of Texas-Pan American in Brownsville.I've been teaching for 18 years in BISD. I am presently teaching two Business Computer Information Systems I (BCIS) classes and one BCIS II.

My objective is to get my Maters in Educational Technology so that I can use technology more effectively in the classroom. I enjoy the teaching field and I find the constant change of technology challenging, there is always something new in the Computer field. The Career & Technology Department in BISD is currently articulating many of the C & T courses with universities/colleges. Therefore, there are many extra demands placed on the curriculum for these courses. The instructors assigned to these dual enrollment classes will have to implement a curriculum that coincides with the university syllabus
