Continuing education classes for management
imposed by corporate office:
Managers are flown in the corporate office
in Dallas for a one to three day seminar
conducted by vendors of the company i.e.
CPA, Insurance Brokers, Lawyer, etc. Expensive
and only open to managers.
Word processing, spreadsheet and database
management classes for Word, Excel and Access:
Individuals are sent off-site for classes
conducted by third party vendorsExpensive
and takes personnel away from office
Internet and Intranet classes including but
not limited to Lotus Notes Intranet instruction
is given informally in-houseTraining is not
consistent among the offices and there is
no Internet training.
OSHA imposed safety training classes:
Five-minute safety training videos are mailed
to each property each month. All employees
are required to view this tape.Safety training
tapes are expensive and company optioned
for one five-minute tape once a month to
meet OSHA requirements
