Location of the Roswell site.Age. Rancholabrean (Lucas and Morgan 1996; Morgan and Lucas 2005).

General Description. About 10 sand and gravel pits just west of the Pecos River near Melena and just east of the Pecos River near Acme, about 10-15 km northeast of Roswell (Morgan and Lucas 2005). The fossils are from poorly consolidated sandstones and conglomerates that probably represent axial river gravels of the ancestral Pecos (Lucas and Morgan 1996).

Fauna.

Gopherus sp.—Gopher Tortoises

Earlier reported here as G. morafkai, but Morgan and Harris (2015) noted a personal communication from Richard Franz suggesting similarity with one of the larger species of the genus.
