Repomys is a genus of more or less Neotoma-size rodents with rather hypsodont dentition. May (1981) diagnosed the genus as follows:

Slender, hypsodont cheek teeth; F-shaped M3 with a single anterolingual reentrant and a posterior enamel lake present or absent; rounded keyhole-shaped M3 with an anterolingual reentrant that is lost with wear, and with a short anterolabial cingulum.
