Peromyscus hagermanensis Hibbard 1962—Hagerman MouseRegional Pleistocene distribution of Peromyscus hagermanensis

Hibbard (1942) described this species from the Hagerman local fauna. His diagnosis is:

Size larger than Peromyscus maniculatus (Wagner) and P. crinitus (Merriam) now living in Idaho. P. hagermanensis is smaller than P. antiquus Kellogg, P. irvingtonensis Savage, P. nesodytes Wilson, P. pliocenicus Wilson and P. kansensis Hibbard. It is near the size of P. dentalis Hall from which it is distinguished by the lack of the deep fossa between the cornoid [sic!] process and M3. It is larger than P. baumgartneri Hibbard and P. cragini Hibbard. Furthermore, thin stylids close the base of the re-entrant valleys between the metaconid and entoconid and the entoconid and posterior cingulum.
