Doolittle Cave

Location of Doolittle Cave.Age. A Wisconsin age is assumed.

General Description. Rock shelter in a canyon off of the Mimbres River in southeastern Grant County.

Discussion. This was excavated archaeologically, though badly pot-hunted. The occurrence of Bison may be Pleistocene in age or may be associated with the late human occupation. The Capromeryx specimen consists of an unmineralized horn core.
