You will find links to hundreds of sites in this course.  External Web sites are provided as reference and are for educational purposes only.  You are very likely to come across material or advertisements which you may consider objectionable.  Content and links are not endorsed by the University of Texas at El Paso, The University of Texas System Administration, or the UT TeleCampus. You are REQUIRED to follow all links that you see in blue.  Each of these sites in turn contain many links for you to explore which you can pursue at your own discretion.  Let me caution you...you can literally spend hours and hours exploring in these modules.  There are many, many opportunities for you to download items, register for information, and cybersurf.  Take advantage, explore to the extent of your time limitations,  and discover what the world of technology is all about.    During your exploration you must adhere to proper internet behavior.   Please familiarize yourself with current standards of behavior in  LEARN THE NET: Netiquette. Clicking on this link will open your browser window. Windows which open in your browser can be exited by clicking the "BACK" function button on your browser (generally located at the top left of the page).

As you visit various web-sites you should pay close attention to the design of the web-pages.  Make note of the features that you like and dislike as well as the different ways in which sites are organized, presented, and structured.  You will see good elements as well as bad.   This information will prove invaluable to you should your career evolve into web design or production.    It will help you to recognize the characteristics and elements of good web design.

One of the most exciting features of this course is that we can design the course "on the fly".  In other words, if you are interested in a particular topic or a particular subject area within a general topic area, we can instantly tailor the course content to reflect your interest.  For example, when we study E-Commerce, you may be interested in E-Bay, or on-line investing, or any one many areas within the general topic area.  Information on these topics can be instantly added to cover any material, topic, or subject that you are interested in.  Just submit an e-mail to me voicing your interest areas.

The course is also tailored to your interests by your personal choice of topics for the multi-media presentations.  In the past, students have chosen topics which reflect the newest technologies and the latest and hottest topics in Information Systems, thus keeping you updated and in-tune with the most current developments in technology today.

You will discover many innovative and exciting sites in your explorations and may judge that they would be of value to the course. You can contribute to the course content by submitting an e-mail with the name of the link you would like to include, one or two sentences describing the value of the link to the course, and the module you wish to include the link in.  In this way you will assist in keeping this course the most up-to-date, relevant, and "real time" course possible in education today.   This course has been developed in the same manner by using the contributions and input of many enthusiastic and talented students.
