Border Pollution Prevention

Maquilas are subject to a complex system of waste management laws and regulations in the U.S.-Mexico border region. The Texas natural resource conservation commission manages this regulatory system.  In order to address environmental issues the TNRCC has partnered with Mexican federal, state, and border region authorities.
