Medicine in the Future

 

What does the Future hold for Doctors and the Medical Field?  In the future, will we need to see doctors? It may be possible to run a self -diagnosis through your home computer. Maybe, home visits will again be a reality through the virtual world of the computer. You can also order medications by way of computer with the drug store being linked to you and your doctor. Need a new arm? Bionic parts may play a part here.

Activity 1

Choose a specific medical procedure and describe the technology that is being developed to perform the procedure.  For instance, eyesite can be corrected with a procedure called radial keratotomy.  Laser technology has been developed to sculpt the surface of the retina to improve eyesite.  Post your research to the Board Room
