3-credit Summer class held every July at Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow, Scotland
The class introduces students to methods in forensic science and its applicability to the criminal justice system in Scotland. The programme includes a series of lecture and practical sessions. Lectures and sessions are supplemented with field trips to a forensic (or equivalent) laboratory, prison and a criminal court. Students will receive a transcript on successful completion of the course, and that course is directly transferable and the Summer programme is open to any student with basic knowledge in chemistry and biology.

Accepted students wishing to obtain course credit for CRIJ 4300 MUST email the UTEP Dept Chair of Criminal Justice at least 2 months prior to departure to enroll in advance for the course during Summer II session (the course will need to be created and added to the schedule, so providing the CJ Chair your acceptance letter from GCU is necessary to add the course and register you).
Students majoring in Forensic Science or Criminal Justice who are accepted by GCU through their application process.
When do students apply?
October or November of the year prior to the programme year they wish to attend.
Exact dates change every year, but the class is held for 3 weeks in July.

GCU Program Fee ($3,200) + Meals ($1,000) + Roundtrip Airfare to Glasgow ($1,600) + UTEP Tuition for 3-credit class ($1,000)
GCU Program Fee - £2,500 (subject to change)
- Program fee includes: lodging/accommodations for 3 weeks, all lectures, labs, and class-related field trips
- UTEP is a partner institution with GCU and has previously sent 3 student attendees, so UTEP students qualify for the discount fee price
A £250 non-refundable deposit is required to be paid to GCU in March (120 days prior to departure) to secure your place on the programme
The remainder of the GCU programme fees will be due by mid-May.
Prior to departure, Students are responsible for securing their own airfare, registering for the UTEP Summer class, and paying their UTEP tuition.
