Teacher Education
The History and Social Studies Teacher Education Program at UTEP is overseen jointly by:
- The History Department, which oversees the major coursework and provides advising.
- The Center for Arts & Science Education (CASE), which assists with admission to the program, oversees internship placement, and provides advising.
- The College of Education, which sets, policy, authorizes candidates to take the state certification exams, and serves as the official certification-granting body.
The College of Education administers social studies training programs for EC-4, grades 4-8, and alternative certification.
