Religious Studies Minor
The Religious Studies Minor at UTEP provides an interdisciplinary framework within which students can explore the nature of religion and its impact on human history, culture, and communities.
Religious Studies courses are rigorously academic and non-sectarian.
Students must complete 18 hours of courses approved by the Director of Religious Studies, 12 of which much be at the upper division level.
Of the 18 hours, students must take 6 hours of core courses.
RS Core Courses:
RS 1301 Introduction to Religious Studies
RS 3310 Major World Religions
The remaining 12 hours may be selected from among non core courses in Religious Studies or in other departments and programs approved by the Director of Religious Studies.
No more than 6 hours can be counted from any one department or program. Courses from a student’s Major counted towards the Minor requirements cannot be used to satisfy Major requirements.
