What is the "CARES Entrepreneurship Bootcamp"? 

The CARES Entrepreneurship Bootcamp (CEB) is a 3-session workshop designed for students from all disciplines who are interested in learning basic concepts and techniques to develop their entrepreneurial skills. The Bootcamp offers students three intensive, one-hour and a half sessions designed by startup experts from the corporate, public, and non-profit sectors. Participating students will receive introductory knowledge on tools and techniques they need in order to successfully start or grow their own business. No previous entrepreneurship knowledge is necessary.

Entrepreneurship Bootcamp

January 29 - February 12, 2021

3:30 pm - 5:00 pm  

The College of Business Administration and College of Education 2021 CEB will take place on January 29, February 5, and February 12, 2021. All sessions will be held virtually. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, beginning on January 19, 2021, at noon, through January 22, 2021, closing at 12:00 pm MST. This Bootcamp is limited to a 44 student cohort.

Student participants that register, attend all of the sessions and complete all the assignments on time will receive a $200 Student Notice of Award at the semester's end. 

The winners of the College of Business Administration and College of Education Bootcamp will receive awards as follows:

  • 1st place, $3,000 per team
  • 2nd place, $2,000 per team
  • 3rd place, $1,000 per team

Additionally,  winning teams will have the opportunity to participate in the CARES Grand Bootcamp Competition, taking place in the Spring 2021 semester. The CARES Grand Bootcamp Competition awards will be as follows:

  • 1st place, $8,000 per team
  • 2nd place, $5,000 per team
  • 3rd place, $2,000 per team 

These engagement activities are designed to spark and grow students’ entrepreneurial spirits, hone their business development skills, and be better positioned for their career path of choice.


CARES Entrepreneurship Bootcamp provides students with an introduction to:

  • Essential entrepreneurship concepts and language.
  • Evaluating ideas and important aspects. 
  • Communicating their business idea easily and effectively.
  • Understanding the problem from their market’s point-of-view.
  • Developing sustainable strategies using the Lean Business Model Canvas. 
  • Understanding the financial side of an entrepreneurial journey.
  • Crafting a good elevator pitch.


Mandatory Requirements: CARES Entrepreneurship Bootcamp

The 44 student participants that register and complete all the mandatory requirements will receive the $200 Student Notice of Award.

  • Be one of the first 44 students to register for CARES Entrepreneurship Bootcamp with your Miners account.
  • Attend all sessions. All sessions are 90 minutes in length and students must be present for the entire duration of each session.
  • Complete all of the assignments on time.
  • Complete a survey after each session.
