What is Invent for The Planet?

Invent for the Planet is a 48-hour intensive design experience (IDE) that engages students at different universities around the world on a single weekend to solve high-impact, global problems. Invent for the Planet is based on the highly successful program at Texas A&M University called Aggies Invent. Invent for the Planet will be held in multiple locations across the globe simultaneously. Each group will start at 4 p.m. local time on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022. New groups will join the race to innovation as time travels across the world. Student teams will work on provided design challenges in local teams and will be encouraged to connect with teams across the globe as they come online. Local presentations will start at 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022. Facilitators will identify teams working on the same need statements and connect these teams via the Microsoft Teams collaboration software to share ideas and experiences. Each university will choose their top team presentation and will submit a video of that presentation, in the collaboration environment, for final overall awards. Learn more!
