DOE Awards UTEP $4.3M to Strengthen Teacher Pipeline in West Texas

The College of Education recently received two grants from the U.S. Department of Education totaling more than $4.3 million to recruit and prepare a predominantly Hispanic teacher pipeline to serve in West Texas school districts.

Record Number of UTEP Students Named Fulbright Semi-Finalists

A record 15 UTEP students are semi-finalists for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. They are moving forward in the competition for a chance to be awarded grants to conduct research, pursue graduate coursework or teach English abroad.

New Department of Theatre and Dance Play to Focus on Farming Community

Adriana Dominguez of the Department of Theatre and Dance will direct “Heroes and Saints,” written by poet and activist Cherrie Moraga, for the Wise Family Theatre stage. It focuses on struggles farmworkers endure in the fictional town of McFarland, California.
