UTEP Named an Opportunity University by Carnegie Foundation

The honor is bestowed on universities that serve as exceptional springboards to student success and economic mobility post-graduation. The new designation makes UTEP one of only 21 institutions of higher education in the nation to hold both R1 status — denoting very high research spending and doctorate production — and Opportunity status.
