UTEP Celebrates TCM Day

UTEP celebrated its longest-running student tradition on Friday. The daylong series of events, known as Texas College of Mines Day, pays tribute to the University’s roots in mining and includes the whitewashing of the “M” on the mountain north of Sun Bowl Stadium.

Common Malaria Drug Repurposed to Fight Cancer

UTEP researchers have secured a patent for the anti-malarial drug pyronaridine, which can be repurposed to fight cancer. Pyronaridine has been used to treat the mosquito-borne infectious disease for over 30 years.

These awards are the highest forms of recognition to outstanding individual student leaders, student organizations and fraternity and sorority chapters at UTEP. 

Texas Ahead Conference Arrives at UTEP

The AHEAD in Texas conference, cohosted by UTEP and Texas Tech University Health Sciences El Paso, will be on the UTEP campus this year. All UTEP faculty and staff who work in support services are encouraged to attend this three-day event that focuses on fostering support across higher education for professionals who work with students with disabilities. Join Monday, March 31 to Wednesday, April 2 in the Tomás Rivera Conference Center, Union Building East.
