City of El Paso Reports UTEP’s Coldplay Concert Contributed $6 Million to Tourism Industry

The City of El Paso and UTEP are celebrating a notable economic and tourism boost during the June 2025 Coldplay concerts at Sun Bowl Stadium. Total estimated spending across the city that weekend peaked at $34.7 million — up 21.2% from the same weekend in 2024.

¡Celebración! Opera UTEP's Hispanic Heritage Concert

Opera UTEP's annual celebration of Hispanic composers features singers from UTEP's Opera Workshop class and Esequiel Meza, Jr. on the piano. They are joined by Levi Hernandez, baritone. This free program is led by UTEP Director of Opera Cherry Duke.

Share Spirit, Celebrate Alumni at Homecoming Pep Rally

Mascots are visiting from around the city to celebrate Paydirt Pete’s birthday, and spirit teams and the band will perform as we honor our alumni and cheer on the Miners! A few lucky winners will have the chance to get free goodies.

Miners Leadership Initiative Workshop Highlights Importance of Mentorships

This workshop will equip you with tools and strategies to seek out mentorship opportunities and highlight how they can be a game-changer for your personal and professional growth. It will feature interactive discussions and practical exercises facilitated by Erika Crawley, CEO & Founder of HESA Consultants LLC.

Faculty Workshop for Teaching Abroad in FLP

The Study Abroad Office is excited to host a faculty meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 1:30–2:30 p.m. in Union East, Desert Canyon Room 102D. This session is designed for faculty who are interested in learning how to develop and lead a Faculty-Led Study Abroad Program (FLP).

What is a Postdoc? Get Answers at Panel

UTEP postdocs will provide insight into their positions and overall experiences of transitioning from a Ph.D. program to a postdoctoral position. This event is hybrid, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in University Library Room 131 or Zoom.
