New Era, New Pete: UTEP Athletics Bringing Paydirt into the 21st Century

As UTEP enters a new era in the Mountain West Conference, the University is also unveiling a bold new look for its iconic mascot. Paydirt Pete has evolved over the years, with the most recent iteration launching in 1999. New Pete has been modernized, while harkening back to the popular “retro” logo from the 1980s.

UTEP Researchers 3D-Print Battery Component That Could Reshape How Devices Are Powered

A team of researchers has developed a way to 3D-print an essential battery component in nearly any shape. Their innovation could free engineers from the constraints of standard rechargeable battery sizes and allow energy storage to be built directly into the devices the batteries power.

Campus Shuttle Route Change Now In Effect

As of last week, the Miner Metro Shuttle’s Campus Loop (Green) Route has been suspended and replaced by the East (Blue) Route due to ongoing campus construction impacts.

CAPS Hosting Virtual Grief and Loss Workshop

This Counseling and Psychological Services workshop is open to all UTEP students and aims to help individuals at any stage of the grieving process understand their reactions to loss, explore the tasks of mourning/grieving and identify ways of coping.

Miner Nation Has Spoken! UTEP Fans Vote on “Innovation Night” Start Time

After a week of voting, tradition reigns. UTEP will kick off against Mountain West foe San Jose State at 7 p.m. MT on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Sun Bowl for the game's "Innovation Night" theme. Thanks to the response from Miner Nation, almost 2,300 fans voted after the initiative received local and national attention.
