UTEP One of Only Three Texas Institutions to Earn TRIO Grant

The Educational Talent Search Program has received a highly competitive TRIO Talent Search grant. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the $375,000 grant supports national institutions and organizations that motivate middle and high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds to finish high school and earn a college degree.

December 2026 Graduates Could be Featured During Commencement

Nominate outstanding students who are participating in the December Commencement ceremonies to have their inspiring stories featured on social media, in the news and more! Submit your story or the story of a graduating student you know by Oct. 2.

Opera UTEP Performing Annual Hispanic Heritage Concert

Talented artists will join Opera UTEP’s annual Hispanic Heritage Month event ¡Celebración! Guests and student performers will feature select pieces from Hispanic composers.

An International Talent Cabaret with Tec de Monterrey

This two-hour showcase will feature music, dance, singing and more from performers at both institutions, celebrating almost a decade of partnership. It serves as a reminder that talent has no borders.

The Miners face Oregon State in UTEP’s 94th Homecoming game. Stick around postgame for a dazzling drone show! Reminder for all games: Students get FREE admission with their virtual ID and can register to earn rewards through the Flare app.

UTEP Athletics Introduces the Football Family Section

The family section provides fans with the opportunity to purchase one or more adult tickets for $20 each, and receive two free youth tickets (age 12 and under) for every adult ticket purchased.

UTEP Wind Symphony Starts Season

The concert title "unfinished" speaks to the commonality of the two major works to be performed: a new symphony for band by Arturo Márquez titled “Sinfonia Nomada” (Nomadic Symphony) and the "Barcelona" Clarinet Concerto of James Stephenson. The show will also feature the Franklin High School Wind Ensemble and starts at 7:30 Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Postdocs, their supervisors, and deans from various UTEP colleges will celebrate the success of UTEP's postdocs at "Donuts with the Deans" in the IDRB lobby at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Class of 2026: Save the Date for These Important Graduation Events

To help you prepare for graduation, Grad Fair is hosted each semester where you can order your regalia and official UTEP medallion and take graduation photos early! This year, a new Graduate Student Grad Fair will serve graduate students next week on Tuesday, Sept. 29, and the main Grad Fair takes place Oct. 23-24.
